Join us for a fascinating day of archaeology and discussions. We are hosting a lecture by Dr. A. Roche Recinos on the illicit trafficking of cultural artefacts, issues of unprovenanced materials, and indigenous engagement in Mesoamerica. Whether you are an archaeology student or just incredibly curious about heritage studies and ethics, you are more than welcome! We will provide snacks from the American continent! After the lecture, we will move to a double-delegation debate relating to the lecture. You will be working in pairs to share your opinion, and potentially challenge other pairs. Some info you need to know about the debate: Teams of two, where only one person needs to sign up, but both names must be included. You have no partner? No worries! We will match you with someone.
When: 13 November 2025 Reuvenshal, Van Steenis: Lecture, from 11:00 Van Steenis (room TBA): Debate, 16:00 - 19:00
The best part? Everything is open to both archaeology and non-archaeology students! Come and exchange knowledge and opinions with fellow students from other faculties! We would love to see you there.
