Here you can find the partners and friends of L.A.S. Terra. Leiden is a student city and therefore has many different study associations for all kinds of programmes and studies. Together with our partners, we share resources, organise joint events, and work together on all levels to expand the scope of our events and bring together our members.
Our Partners and Friends
The Leiden University Green Office has branches in many faculties of our university and aims to bring sustainable practices, awareness, and eco-friendly approaches to student life into the study programmes. The Green Office for Archaeology hosts regular events where you can learn all about sustainability, protecting the environment, and how to lessen your impact on the planet. We work with them during our clothing swap and on several other occasions.

The LBC, also known as the Leidse Biologen Club, is the official study association for the biology programme at Leiden University. They fill a similar role to what we do; however, they focus on topics related to biology and the environment. Together with them, we host pub quizzes, outdoor events, and share knowledge and resources.

Itiwana are our friends from cultural anthropology. They share our love for studying humans, but they do not limit themselves to what people did in the past. Together with them, we organise events to join forces and connect our two very similar studies. Their association focuses on academic panels, social events, and anything else to bring together the student community.

MSVL Floris V is named after the famous Count Florens V., a historic and very important person for the city of Leiden. The association of the Medieval History minor loves history as much as we do, so we are happy to have them as our association friends! Look out for our joint events in the future!

W.E.A.L. is the Workgroup Experimental Archaeology Leiden, and the newest archaeological association within our faculty. They focus on all things related to experimental archaeology. Building authentic, Neolithic fishtraps, Mesolithic houses, fire-making workshops, and much more is what you can expect from them. With Terra, they organise the yearly “Experimental Archaeology Days”, and we work closely on other events related to the past.

Sophia Aeterna is the study association for Latin and Greek language and culture, a topic closely related to archaeology. The Classics are what most people associate with our degree, so we love to buy into this stereotype and are glad to have Sophia Aeterna as our friends!
