2026 so far has been a year of Terra celebration, but we're not done yet - if you're looking ahead and planning your schedules for the rest of academic year, don't forget to include one more major event in your calendar:
Join us at the yearly L.A.S. Terra symposium on May 7th and 8th for two days packed full of lectures, museum tours, and workshops. Expect riveting discussions of celebrations in Islamic Spain, protective deities and their festivals in early modern east Asia, prehistoric rituals in Japan, and more. Additionally, we will be providing opportunities for workshops at the Wereldmuseum, as well as tours of collections at the Wereldmuseum and RMO custom-made for celebrations!
Interested in attending? Mark these dates in your calendars and keep an eye out for upcoming information about the final program. As we approach the event, we’ll also open spots for workshops and tours, so stay tuned!

Experimental Days
The Experimental Committee is proud to present: The Experimental Archaeology Days of 2026!🌾🔥
They will take place on April 23rd and 24th at Van Steenis! On the first day you can look forward to the workshop day filled with practical hands-on approaches to experimental archaeology. Expect glass bead and bone needle making, beer brewing, flint knapping and experiments in the lab! 🦴🔬
The second day is going to be a symposium with expert speakers in their field, giving talks showcasing the broad applications of experimental approaches to archaeology. The symposium will open at 10:00 (walk-in starts at 9:30) and end at 17:00 with two breaks for lunch and coffee. To round up the two wonderful days we will finish with faculty drinks! 🗣️☕

Dusane will rise again to bring to you expert talks about the ancient Near East under the theme “To rise from the Ashes”.
Join us at the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden, on April 16th to learn about new research, novel developments and different perspectives on the rich archaeological history of Mesopotamia and beyond. Members, non-members, students and beyond are invited to join for a day of learning and understanding with experts of their fields of Mesopotamian archaeology.

Professor Aris Politopoulos, an expert on Greek prehistory, will join us to tell is how accurate this movie really is, and let us know about its historical context.

Statute Change Presentation
The Terra constitution, our Magna Charta, the Hammurabi code of Terra law is being adapted.
We‘ve been working on amending our statutes since September and are now opening up the draft to a large feedback round. If you want to give us your thoughts on the new rules of Terra, you can do so (among other ways) at the walk-in presentation on February 18th at 13:00 in room E0.02a!
You can also check out our website and fill in the feedback form, talk to Skye, Eli, or Max when you run into them, or contact us in another way. We are excited to hear what you have to say!
