Travel Committee
What Does the Committee Do?
The Travel Committee organises the yearly Terra Travel trip abroad. Together with about 30 students, the committee picks a destination, creates an itinerary, and makes sure everyone gets to enjoy an unforgettable trip.
While archaeology is, of course, the focus of all we do at Terra, other fun activities are also part of the diverse itinerary of the trip. Beach days, excursions, wine and food tastings, and nights out are important parts of our travels.
Our 2025 trip went to Spain, to Malaga and Sevilla, to be exact. For eight days, a group of 28 people enjoyed the Spanish sun, the beach, the local Sangria, but most importantly, archaeological sites such as the Medina Al-Azahara and the Roman ruins of Italica. Several museums, castles and other cultural activities taught our group about prehistoric, Roman, and Islamic Spain.
Are you excited about travelling, and know a thing or two when it comes to organising a trip? Send the committee an email and be part of next year’s Travel Committee!
Andrej
Committee Chair
Hi! My name is Andrej Janeček, I come from Slovakia and this year I'll serve as the chair of the Terra travel committee. I'm an extrovert with a deep passion for things such as medieval archaeology, hiking and budget travelling. I like to fill my spare time by collecting coins, spending quality time with my friends and improving my cooking skills. I´m looking forward to planning the trip with you and hope to take many along to next years destination!
