Leiden Archaeology Weekend Committee
What Does the Committee Do?
The L.A.W. Committee, short for Leiden Archaeology Weekend Committee, organises a yearly outing for a whole weekend, somewhere in the Netherlands. Focused on archaeology, of course, L.A.W. is not only about the past and monuments. It is a weekend together with your friends, full of fun, a planned itinerary, and a party at the end. Think of it as a multi-day high school trip, but without the teachers and restrictions.
From the very north to the deep south, L.A.W. can take you to all the interesting archaeological highlights of the Netherlands. Hunebedden in Groningen, the flint mines in Limburg, or the maritime museum of Texel, L.A.W. is a great way to find out more about these gems of Dutch archaeology.
Are you interested in helping with the next Leiden Archaeology Weekend? Join the committee by applying with an email to the committee.
NyAnna
Committee Chair
Hey! I'm NyAnna, an archaeology and art history student in my third year studying at Leiden. As a Trinidadian American student, I've come from overseas for my studies. I love traveling, visiting museums, and putting together pottery.
This year, I am the chair of the L.A.W. Committee, bringing you the most exciting weekend of your academic year! Together with the committee, we will make sure to provide a memorable Leiden Archaeology Weekend!
Last year, I was involved with Terra through the subgroup Situla and the Experimental Days. Now that I am the secretary of Terra, I handle communications and the weekly newsletter, which keeps you updated on the coolest events around. Together with the current board, we're working hard to make this a great year for everyone at the faculty and beyond!
